I wish I had thought of this on my own. This idea was inspired by a card by Rachel Tessman. Sometimes you need someone else's idea to help you jump start. I did tweak it and make changes that work for me. I know this card has definitely inspired additional cards. It's a great and simple layout and it gave me a unique way to use my new doilies.
Featured Stamp Set: Moon Baby & Balloon Adventures
Featured Accessory: Lace Doilies
The card base is 5 1/2 X 8 1/2, scored at 4 1/4.
I started with the Sweet Sugarplum layer 3 3/4 X 1 3/4.
I cut a doilie in half and then cut about 1/3 off again. I used the bigger piece for the lower section and the smaller piece to stick our from the top. I'll get lots of use from my doilies this way.
I attached the doilies and sweet sugarplum first using snail.
Next I stamped "it's your birthday" in Sweet Sugarplum.
I stamped stars on a scrap piece of whisper white and then stamped the stuffed animals image on a piece of whisper white 3 1/2 x 1 1/2. Both were stamped with Momento ink.
I used a blender pen and ink to color in the stuffed animals and stars. I used Tip Top Taupe, Delightful Dijon, Sweet Sugarplum and Mint Macaron.
Attach this piece using dimensionals.
Cut out the three small stars and attach them with gluedots.
Tie a small knot with Sweet Sugarplum ribbon and attach with a glue dot.
Finish it off by stamping "let's celebrate" on the inside in Sweet Sugarplum ink and add wink of stella to all of the stars.
