My featured stamp set today is the same as yesterday. I don't normally get big into Halloween but I do enjoy October "cute" things. The Halloween Suite caught my eye right away in the catalog. It's got coordinating designer paper, enamel dots, bakers twine, stamp set and more! I love the color theme of Stampin' Up Halloween this year! (Pages 50-51 in your new Holiday catalog)
I just started using these Glassine bags these past few months and I just love them! They are great for cards, gift cards or goodies! Let's take a closer look at these two!
I started with my bag and stamped the dots on the bottom from Halloween Scares with Pumpkin Pie Ink. Normally I would heat emboss using Versamark first, but I knew the ink wouldn't sink into the bag due to the "glass" material that makes it shimmer. So I stamped with my everyday Stampin' Up ink pad and immediately applied my clear embossing powder, fired up my heat gun and voila!
I knew I was adding bats next and they should be black so I used my Stazon Black Ink for the bats. Next, I added the bat Washi tape from the Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape. Fill it with a treat and you're all set!
This one I love! I think I would love it even more if I took away the small speckles of back and reworked my splatters a little bit. I used my Gorgeous Grunge Stamp set for the background splatter. Now this took time and patience. I had to ink, stamp, powder rather quickly... And for each color separately. I did find that I could heat them all at the same time, but then you have to be careful so you don't get powder on your stamp. I was worried that the powder might not stick if I didn't shake it on right away because I was again not using Versamark due to the type of bag. One color at a time put your splatters on the bag and the 1 3/4 inch circle of whisper white. I used the colors from the Halloween Night Designer Washi Tape (Perfect Plum, Old Olive and Pumpkin Pie).
After the heat embossing, I added the black splatter stripes using Stazon Black. I added a cute little pumpkin to my whisper white circle and attached it to a 2 inch circle of Pumpkin Pie cardstock. Finished it off with Washi tape from the Hallween Night Washi. I did attach my circle using a dimensional which allowed the circle to hold the bag shut when folded over.
