Happy sailing

Today is my son's 8th birthday.  I already shared the card I made for him- it was the baseball card a week or so ago.  I had to pick a post for today that shared another boyish happy birthday just for him!

Swirly Bird and Swirly Scribbles strike again!  This time for sailing.

The card base is Dapper Denum with a layer of Sahara Sand.  For the sentiment, stamp "Happy Day to You" in Dapper Denim Ink.

To create the sailboat, use the Swirly Bird stamp set.  Stamp the bottom of the boat with Sahara Sand ink, the boat triangle with Dapper Denim ink as well as the little flag and the striped piece, ink with Dapper Denim, stamp off on a scrap paper and then stamp on to get the lighter shade.  Next, cut it out by hand.

For the water and waves.  We started with a piece of Dapper Denim cardstock, ran it through the big shot using Swirly Scribbles Thinlits and then attached it to a piece of Pool Party cardstock.  Trim the top to match your waves and attach to the card.  Now add that cute sailboat you just cut out!
