Ok, I love the July Paper Pumpkin, Banner Surprise! It is adorable! Seriously! So cute! I do also have to admit that I have not yet cracked the actual kit open. I need to. I have a class coming up so it's almost time to prep. I have however, been looking for alternate ideas. I found a card in one of my groups created by Dawn Stock. It was simple and used the kit pieces and I was blown away by her quick, creative idea! She used this brilliant stamp set to make baseballs on her card!
My youngest son is currently playing baseball and is loving it. Yesterday we were at a game so I decided I just had to sit down when we got home and make a card with baseballs on it. I will save it for his last game and share with him how proud we are! Here it is...
I started with a Night of Navy Base (we're sporting the "All American" sport here!). I added a quick layer of Real Red cardstock and then topped that with a layer of Whisper White cardstock that I first ran through the Softly Falling Embossing Folder.
I punched out 3 Whisper White 1 3/4 inch circles and then 2 Real Red and 1 Night of Navy 2 inch circles. I used the stamp set that came with my Banner Surprise Kit to create the stitching on the baseballs in Real Red Ink. I added "So Proud of You" in Night of Navy Ink from Marquee Messages (seriously, one of my absolute favorite stamp sets in this catalog!).
To finish it off, I added a few stars that I cut from a silver foil doilie (I ran out of silver foil paper, oops!) and the Wonderful Wreath Framelits. When you are short on supplies, sometimes you have to get creative ;)
Here's my little All-Star! Love him to pieces!
This is so adorable and creative! I've pinned for future use!
