Frame it

Before I share today's post, check out the special deal at the bottom! ONE DAY ONLY!  $5 paper pumpkin!  Take advantage right away!!!

I love framed art, especially stamped.  It can look so awesome and can be simple or intricate.  Sometimes you see a stamp and you think, I just have to frame this! Here is one of my very simple framed pieces.  This one focuses on... Pop of Pink!

My inspiration was a UK stamper who posted a sample.  I saw it and thought, I can make that!  I didn't have all of the supplies I needed.  Does this ever happen to you?  I had to improvise and honestly, I love the way it turned out!  It was exactly what I had in my head!

I started with a plain wood frame ($1 at Michaels).  I painted it white with a piece of a Stampin' Up sponge and white craft paint (also approx $1).  It took 2 coats to get good coverage.  I used my Swirly Bird stamp set and Melon Mambo Ink with Black Archival Ink.  I stamped my frame first.

Here's a better, cleaner view :). Dry and ready to go.  Notice that the wood frame pulls the ink in.  I lost some of the Bold color from my initial stamping but it actually works out in my favor.  It looks like I used a coordinating color with my Melon Mambo and a slate color with my black.

I needed something for the frame itself of course.  I could have done a picture but I had already envisioned this.  I used the Painter's Palette stamp set for the phrase "Our friendship is a work of art" as well as the brush stroke and again used Melon Mambo Ink and Black Archival ink.  I love how bold the images came out and the swirls are so much fun!!

The only thing that could be missing is a little bling.  Perhaps some wink of stell or rhinestones...just to spice things up a bit :)

Offer ends at midnight June 10th.  Go to www.mypaperpumpkin.com, list me as your demonstrator and enter code ONEDAYDEAL!  This never happens, so take advantage now!!!

Sneak Peek!  This looks adorable and fun!  My guess... Shaker cards!!!
