Happy Father's Day to all the great dad's out there!
I will spend today celebrating my husband with my two boys. He cares more for these two boys than anything else in the world. He would do anything for them.
Funny thing, we never seem to slow down enough to take photos together and I haven't taken any lately of my husband with the boys. I have realized the older our boys get, the more we are in the moment versus taking as many photos. I am trying to be better about this.
Here's one of us from last month when my youngest received his first communion.
And one of my favorites from several years ago :) I miss those little guys!
Yesterday we celebrated with my dad. We surprised him by having my brother and his family join us from Minnesota and took him to one of his favorite lunch spots. Sprechers Restaurant and Pub.
He's been learning guitar so we had a little jam session with some new guitar gear and a new guitar.
The evening ended with a sing-a-long around the fire. Happy Father's Day to an Awesome Dad! You get better with age ;)
On to a card...here's a quick and easy "manly" card.
I used the many manly expressions paper pumpkin kit but made a few alterations. I used Night of Navy and Cucumber Crush ink and cardstock.
To get double cards out of this, I took a piece of white cardstock and placed it under my triangle card front before sponging. This gave me 2 card designs. The sponging went through and created an opposite pattern on the second card piece.
I took my sponged front and added a Night of Navy cardstock underneath, as well as stamped the words from Marquee Messages in Night of Navy ink and Cucumber Crush ink.
To create the second card, I mounted my white geo-sponged piece on a Night of Navy base, added an insert so I could write inside, and added in Crushed Curry ink, "You are Awesome".
Both came out quick and easy and are in more manly colors and work perfectly as Father's Day cards or other manly occassions.
