I am working on cleaning up my Stampin' studio space. I was motivated by Sara Douglass, CEO of Stampin' Up in her effort to clean out her area. In doing so I need to post either retiring item swap cards OR just swaps that I have collected and just have not yet posted. So here goes nothing.
Recognize this collection? It's my favorite!! And it's not on the retiring list! Yay! So you'll be seeing more of this one.
This card was by swapper Gail. She used a whisper White background with a single layer of Crumb Cake. She die cut the flower out of Blackberry Bliss (this color is retiring. I am so sad!) using Rose Garden Thinlits. She also stamped the frame and greeting from the Rose Wonder Stamp set in Blackberry Bliss ink and cut the frame out with the Thinlits. To finish it off, she added a pearl in the center of the flower. LOVE!
This card is quite dazzling. I do not know who designed this one either but she started with a whisper white base and a piece of Blushing Bride. She cut the flower, using Rose Garden Thinlits, out of Blushing Bride glimmer paper. Under the flower she used markers to color in the space. She added a rhinestone in the center and finished it off by stamping the frame and sentiment in Archival Black Ink directly on her background. I like this. It reminds us that we don't have to cut those things out just because we can. Sometimes they are nice just the way they are stamped on the background.
I also noticed a trend here. I don't use a lot of Sympathy cards, but this set sure does lend itself well to such an occasion. I stick to using it for birthday or thank you but this would be a beautiful heart felt card and sentiment for anyone in need.
