Pink Rose Bud

This is a tricky one.  By tricky I don't mean difficult though, I mean it's deceiving.  IT looks like there is an added layer where there is not.  A fun and easy technique.

The base is Whisper White with a layer of Whisper White.  That's all the cardstock you need.

First thing you do is stamp the flower from Rose Wonder in Versamark and put on clear or white embossing powder.  Heat emboss the flower.  Next we used sponge daubers to color in the flower with Rose Red and the leaves with Old Olive.  It looks like you'be used chalk when in fact you have used regular ink.  Stamp your words  in Old Olive ink and then...

That green "layer" you see is ink!  You can do this in one of two ways.  The first way is to take your cardstock and rub it directly on the ink pad on the edges only.  The second way (and how I did it for this card) is to use a sponge and run the sponge along the edges of the cardstock.

This is one of my favorite sets this year.  It's awesome!  I am loving the artistic ideas I've seen.  It's some items tricky but overall a great effect!  Lots of fun and quite impressive.
