Christmas countdown

It has been a tradition for many many years now to make a countdown Christmas calendar.  Our family calendar is filled with trivia questions about different Christmas movies.  It started in High School ( I think) when my dad made one for me and we have continued it through college and onto my kids.  Now the calendar is for my kids (I get my questions via text daily and they are much more complex than the kid questions).  They love knowing that they are keeping up with grandpa :)

I remember doing my first ones, and hand writing Merry Christmas and stapling the numbers and such.  I have been a demo for 10 years, so they have gotten quite elaborate over the years.  This year my boys are 7 & 8 and were thrilled to make this and mostly do it on their own with little guidance from me.

Here goes...

We used Whisper WHite, Garden Green and Real Red.  We made our squares 1 1/2 inch.  We used the "Your Presents" stamp set and the "Seasonal Snapshot 2015" stamp set.  We also included some of the Cherry on Top Washi Tape.

My youngest son decided to stamp ornaments using the "Your Presents" set so I decided I HAD to show him the kissing technique.  He thought kissing was pretty gross but thought for stamping that it was pretty neat! :)

My oldest decided on the words and picked out the "Seasonal Snapshot 2015" stamp set.  He liked the variety of words and of course, used them all (We all have stampers that do that, right?!).  What I love the most is the words he chose and how he chose to arrange them.  Even better... this is a photopolymer stamp so when he stamped the word "together" he missed part and stamped on top and its PERFECT!  You can't hardly tell.  I wowed him and he smiled proudly.  Then he stamped "Merry" and did the same thing... again, almost a PERFECT second try... it gave it a shadow that looks like it's meant to be!
